Held each September, Start Talking Science is an unprecedented opportunity for local scientists and academics and discuss their groundbreaking research with members of the community.

Our most recent event took place at the Science History Institute on September 22, 2022. Attendees spent an evening with Philadelphia-area researchers discussing astronomy, medicine, oceanography and more!

Mission

Start Talking Science is a free public event where STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) researchers present nontechnical posters to the community. We aim to increase the public awareness of—and interest in—cutting-edge, local research in order to make STEM more accessible. We hope to foster insightful conversations and connections while strengthening the communication skills of researchers.
