Research Centers
The Science History Institute has two research centers that work to advance our understanding of the history of science. With more than a dozen fellows in residence every year, our research community is vibrant and always changing. Our curators and educators are also professional historians who use our library and museum to tell new stories. We present this research by publishing in journals, teaching at universities, and speaking at conferences.
Beckman Center for the History of Chemistry
The Beckman Center for the History of Chemistry is home to our fellowship program. Visiting scholars come from around the world and are in residence from one month to two years.
Center for Oral History
Our Center for Oral History conducts professional life interviews with scientists and engineers. We also regularly host the Oral History Training Institute to teach interviewing techniques and best practices.
