Nicholas Allred

Nicholas Allred completed his PhD at Rutgers University in spring of 2022, and beginning in the fall of 2022 will be a visiting professor of English at Fairfield University in Connecticut. His work has appeared in Eighteenth-Century Fiction, the edited collection Scholarly Milton, and the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs. The book project that Nick will be working on during the fellowship, “Character Under the Influence in Eighteenth-Century Britain,” focuses on the relationship between mind-altering and habit-forming substances, particularly alcohol, and literary character in 18th-century Britain.
