Eleanor Webb

Eleanor Webb is a sixth year PhD Candidate in History at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on educational institutions in early modern Italy. She is currently working on a dissertation, tentatively entitled: “Between Studium and Accademia: Teachers and Students in Early Modern Italy,” which investigates how university professors and students used learned academies to broaden the scope of official higher education through engagement in scientific and anatomical experiments, and discussion of the results of new scientific research.
