What’s the difference between wool and polyester? Cotton and nylon? It’s all in the fibers!

This First Friday, we’ll explore natural and synthetic fibers and dyes and look at the fascinating histories behind the clothes we wear. Prove your knowledge of natural dyestuffs with a matching game, touch and test raw and treated fibers, and learn about the technology behind textile manufacturing from the Industrial Revolution to the synthetic dye boom. You’ll see highlights from our special collections, try your hand at fiber arts, and make a craft to take home.
