Family Day
Dive into a day of family-friendly, water-related activities!
Start with a fun picture book during storytime. Then explore our Downstream exhibition using our self-guided activity sheet.
Ask questions, find clues, and work together with your group to solve puzzles—and you just might earn a water-themed prize!
Close out your visit to our museum with a stop at our Object Explorer, an interactive touchtable where you can learn the history behind everyday objects like ice-cube trays.
This month we're reading The Snowflake: A Water Cycle Story by Neil Waldman with special guest Thembi Palmer. We will also be making water cycle bracelets!

Dedicated to inspiring a time of exploration and discovery, Thembi Palmer created Imagine More: Story Adventures. She has taught storytelling and music and movement classes for 11 years and has worked with children in the United States, United Kingdom, and India, including those with special needs. Her storytelling curriculum is both engaging and interactive, designed to spark children’s imagination. Thembi believes that reading is more than the pages in a book. When books, music, movement, and play are combined, it makes for a complete storytelling experience. When done alongside the arts, sciences, exercise, cooking, and more, that experience is priceless!
Family Day takes place on the third Saturday of each month. Admission is free and no reservations are necessary.
